Occasionally a student will decide to leave the University early. When this happens, there are a number of things to remember.
If a student informs you they are leaving the University, you will need to fill in a leaver's form and make the student aware how much they owe in terms of fees.
When a student leaves
There are three types of student leaver: temporary, permanent and presumed (permanent). The school has different responsibilities depending on the type of student leaver.
Students may take temporary leave from the University for a variety of reasons. A summary of the processes can be found here.
Students may take permanent leave (permanently withdraw) from the University for a variety of reasons. A summary of the processes can be found here.
Students may be presumed to have left the University if they have failed to re-register or if they fail to attend for a period of time. A formal process should be followed.
