Invigilator recruitment

If you are interested in becoming an invigilator at the University, find out what's involved and how to apply.

The Assessment & Progress Team (A&P) no longer requires schools to provide staff invigilators for assessments.  If a member of staff wishes to invigilate their assessment, they should contact A&P before the start of the assessment period using the email address examinations@leeds.ac.uk .

Procedure notes for invigilators are available in the online Operational Guide for Invigilation.

Recruitment

We recruit external people and PhD students* to work as invigilators.  Successful applicants will be hired as support invigilators.

Invigilators are usually recruited at the start of the academic session, in September/October.   In September the job description and information on how to apply will be available through the University Jobs webpage.

*Only students on research degree programmes can be employed as invigilators.  If you are a research degree student but are studying any taught modules, you are not eligible due to a conflict of interest.

Training

Before you can be allocated any invigilator duties you will have to undertake some training.  Please see the Invigilator Training webpage for more information.
