Student Finance

Find out about student funding, fees and charges, scholarships and bursaries and where students experiencing financial difficulties can get support.

There are several different funds available for students who need extra financial support and it's important to know the options available and where to send students for more information.

Funding and awards

Payments made to students include tuition fee awards, maintenance payments, scholarships and University prizes.

Fees and charges

Charging and collection of tuition fees is managed by the Student Fees team. Find out about scholarships, manually reduced fees, how to help students registering and sponsored students.

Assessed student household income data’

Disclosure of Household Income Data provided by the Student Loans Company When applying for statutory student support from the Student Loans Company (SLC) students consent to the SLC sharing the assessed residual household income with the University of Leeds as their Higher Education Provider (HEP).  For GDPR purposes the SLC is deemed the Data Controller and the HEP data processor.

Financial difficulties

If you're contacted by students who are experiencing financial hardship due to a variety of different reasons, then they may be eligible for help from the Financial Assistance Fund.

Reduced fees and returners

If a taught student needs their fee reducing this must be calculated manually. Schools must notify the Student Fees team for this to happen.
