Referred students (taught)
Students can be 'referred' if they have seriously or repeatedly failed examinations. In some instances it is possible for a student to be excluded from the University without previous warning.
The referred students procedure (DOC), held on the Student Cases webpage, explains the procedure that schools should follow when a board of examiners decides that, because of repeated or serious examination failure, the School no longer wishes to take academic responsibility for a candidate. The procedure details how this decision is to be communicated to the student.
The procedure also outlines the student's right to respond and how any response will be handled by the University.
