South Africa

Undergraduate

Qualification required for undergraduate entry: National Senior Certificate (NSC) with matriculation endorsement.

Where GCSE Maths is required, Mathematical Literacy can be accepted from the NSC. If A-level Maths is required, Mathematics must be taken.

The International Secondary Certificate (ISC) is also accepted on the same basis as the NSC. If A-level Maths is required, Further Studies Maths must be taken from the ISC.

Applicants who have studied in South Africa for at least two years to complete an undergraduate degree or one year to complete a master’s degree, where the medium of instruction was English, are not required to undertake further English language tests.

Postgraduate Research exemptions

An online degree that was taught in English and awarded by an institution in South Africa may be considered as English language evidence for entry to online degrees offered by the Digital Education Service, in line with their non-standard English language requirements for online degrees.
