Taught postgraduate deferrals
This procedure is used when an applicant for a taught postgraduate programme requests to defer their offer.
For an applicant to obtain a deferred offer, a number of things are required:
- The applicant requests a deferral. This may be via OLA, an email, or a phone call.
- The school decides whether they are happy for this applicant to defer and inform Taught Admissions if so.
- Taught Admissions check that the offer does not have an outstanding academic condition and that the applicant hasn't previously deferred.
- A new record is created for the applicant and a letter sent out.
An applicant can only defer to the subsequent recruitment term, i.e. up to one year in advance of the current recruiting term.
For more information, read the Taught postgraduate admissions policy.
