Lifelong Learning Centre

The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) is about widening opportunity.

The Centre offers opportunities for mature and part-time learners and those of any age from under-represented communities via foundation year and part-time programmes as well as community outreach and specialist advice.

The Centre runs a Matrix-accredited guidance service for learners who do not hold standard qualifications and are returning to study after a long gap.

Foundation year courses are available to UK resident students who do not currently meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. Foundation courses for international students are also available via the International Foundation Year route, which is managed by the International Pathways Centre.

Support is also offered pre-arrival and on-course for mature students, student parents and care leavers. The Centre also runs social events and publishes a newsletter for all mature and part-time undergraduates at the University.

Admissions staff at the LLC welcome enquiries from schools about using a contextual approach to admissions for learners who do not have formal qualifications.

Further details about courses and activities can be found on the Lifelong Learning Centre website.
