About the Student Education Service
The Student Education Service brings together colleagues from across the institution to provide a consistently good experience for all our students.
The Service supports students from the moment they apply, all through their studies, to the day they graduate.
Academic integrity officer
Each school (or faculty) appoints an academic integrity officer to ensure procedures around plagiarism education, procedures and investigation are consistent.
Chair of Examinations Group
The Examinations Group is responsible for the examination of postgraduate research students. The Chair plays a key role in leading the Group.
Cross-institutional functional management teams
Cross-institutional functional management teams bring together colleagues from across the institution who work in a particular functional area.
Director of Postgraduate Research Studies
The Director of Postgraduate Research Studies is responsible for shaping the strategic development of postgraduate research in the Faculty. They work closely with the Pro-Dean for Research and Innovation.
Director of Student Education
The Director of Student Education has a dual Faculty and School role and is directly responsible to the Faculty, through the Pro-Dean for Student Education, for the quality assurance, standards and quality enhancement of the School's learning and teaching provision.
Faculty teams are a key part of the Student Education Service and work in close partnership with academic colleagues.
Module leaders are appointed to develop, organise and manage the module(s) for which they are responsible.
Postgraduate Research Tutor
There is a least one Postgraduate Research Tutor in each school with responsibility for coordinating admission, and overseeing progress of postgraduate research students.
Pro-Dean for Student Education
The Pro-Dean for Student Education is responsible for the quality assurance, standards and quality enhancement of their faculty's learning and teaching provision.
Process and technology improvement programme
A team is supporting the ongoing development of the Student Education Service through a process and technology improvement programme.
Programme leaders are responsible for the development, organisation and management of a named programme and for the academic experience of the students on the programme.

The Service has been designed to ensure consistent, high quality support for all students and effective support for the academic and university community.
